What I’d do for design.
February 3, 2009
I went to Value Village today and committed a crime.
Lol. No, I did not steal…not unless garment labels have some monetary value. I was not really “browsing” per se, but was looking for different/interesting labels. So regardless of whether or not it’s a size 12 (I’m a size 0), or if it’s for men’s, or if it looked like it belonged 3 generations before me, it went with me to the fitting room where I “tried them on” (read: did the act with my mighty small scissors, which my mom suggested to bring. Thank you, mom.)
Everything was premeditated, which makes me twice as guilty and my sin probably thrice as punishable. But I did buy one item (payment for the laborious hours I stayed there), and said sorry to Value Village on my way out.
Haha, just thought it’d be funny to share. It was such a hassle since I could only bring in 3 items at once. And, I had to wait a bit and consider “fitting time” factors, etc. Oh well, didn’t get caught + good ephemera = mission accomplished! =)
Dreamer.
January 10, 2009
Today at 4:39 am, I had a very profound realization that I am a dreamer. And that dreamers are categorized as personality type INFP (Introverted, Intuition, Feeling, Perceptive). And if I may quote from personality.info:
“INFPs are introspective, private, creative and highly idealistic individuals that have a constant desire to be on a meaningful path. They are driven by their values and seek peace. Empathetic and compassionate, they want to help others and humanity as a whole. INFPs are imaginitive, artistic and often have a talent for language and writing. They can also be described as easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal.”
Actually, my first clue was my tendency to daydream a lot, contemplate a lot, think a lot about both likely and unlikely events. Perhaps I do these a little too often that I usually result to not accomplishing much by the end of the day. Lol. Second was my habit of asking people highly improbable, sometimes random and unrelated, questions just out of curiosity. In fact, right now I deeply regret not having some sort of technology that allows us to record dreams or subconscious thoughts automatically. Perhaps then I could have enough data of total randomness to compile into a book. A bit narcissistic but aren’t we all? Haha. (Not really, I just really enjoy keeping everything journaled. You know, for future use. Lol. You’d never know.)
I think that one key to being successful in anything we do is to learn as much as we can about our makeup as a human being: understanding what makes us tick, what annoys us, etc. In fact, I think if my parents knew about these different personality types, they wouldn’t be having such a hard time trying to get my sister and I to get along, or to help more around the house.

moleskine love
November 3, 2008
Wouldn’t it be great brilliantly fantastic if YSDN would give us Moleskines as gifts for our birthdays? You know, just to add that thoughtful touch. Kind of like how my dentist remembers and never fails to send me cards (plus a phone call) on my birthday. It makes me think of them like such good people. Haha =)

Found this site yesterday night. Apparently there’s a great number of “cake designer” misfits, a specific blog made for them seemed necessary.
Lol. Aw man, that’s just sad.

tips for freelancers.
August 13, 2008
I talk to a lot of consultants, freelancers, and small businesses who do web work, and I used to be a freelancer myself, so sometimes I get asked for advice on how to price one’s goods and services.
I think I came up with my best suggestion today, and it involves only two simple steps:
- Slap the client in face.
- Tell the client your hourly rate.
If the person looked more shocked, horrified, offended, hurt, saddened, or wounded by the slap in the face, then you are still pricing yourself too low. Source.
LOL. Couldn’t have said it better myself.
